Green Ethics

Croissant-Neuf Summer Party is a multi-award winning, family-friendly green festival run entirely on solar power. We pride ourselves on being the greenest festival in the UK after winning the title for the third year at the UK Festival Awards 2012.

Other awards include:

  • Greener Festival 2012 Outstanding
  • A Greener Festival 2011, 2010 Outstanding and OVERALL WINNER
  • Green Parent Highly Commended Award 2011
  • People and Environment Award (PEA) 2011 in the Arts and Music Category
  • Virtual Festivals Award 2009
  • Adventa Award for Sustainable Green Festivals in Monmouthshire 2009

The team behind Croissant Neuf Summer Party have always championed renewable energy and sustainability. Our lifestyles and our events reflect our beliefs that it’s easy to live a low impact life style and still have the maximum amount of fun!

All the electricity on site is generated by solar panels and wind generators, from the massive sound system and stage lights of the main stage to the strings of LEDs that light the site at night. Everything that possibly can be, is recycled. All the food and drink on site is organic, as local as possible and fairly traded where appropriate.

CNSP FACTS AND FIGURES

  • Since its inception in 2007 Croissant Neuf Summer Party have planted over 4000 native British tree saplings on and around the event site, due to our 3 trees per car scheme
  • Due to the tree planting our carbon footprint has been drastically reduced
  • In 2012 we managed to run the entire event off only 11Kw of Solar
  • The main stage LED lighting system uses less power than an average hair dryer
  • 95% of all waste generated at the event in 2012 was subsequently recycled
  • We have never used any generators (other than solar or wind) at the festival
  • All the food and drink on site at our eco festival is organic where possible, locally sourced and fairly traded
  • We actively encourage people to come to the festival by more environmentally sound modes of transport i.e. trains, buses, car sharing and cycling
