What to Bring

Even family festivals can seem a little daunting if you haven’t been to one before or it’s the first time you’ve brought your family. We’ve lived through all the ‘forgetting the wet wipes’ situations so have compiled a list of hints, tips and all the essentials you should bring so you don’t have to! Just click on the headings below for further information.

Camping equipment

There is no camping shop nearby and we have no one on site sells it, so you will need to bring tent, tent pegs, sleeping bags and sleeping mats. Towels are also useful, plus a torch per person, and spare batteries. A small camping stove and a kettle is useful for hot drinks at odd times. Not all tipi and yurt hire options include bedding, so check with them before you arrive.

Food

We have some of the finest food and drink in the area available on site, ranging from wood fired Pizzas to a Hog Roast to everyday meals (pastas, salads, jacket potatoes etc…). There is something for everyone and the prices are exceptionally reasonable. Please see our Food and Drink [link to food and drink page]page for more information.

The bars stock a good selection of drinks but make sure you bring a water container to refill at the taps.

If you bring snacks for the little ones or a camping stove to cook meals please make sure you recycle your waste and take non-recyclables home.

Clothes and Dressing Up

We always hope for sun so make sure you bring sun cream but do bring wellies and waterproofs just in case. Rain or shine, it does get cold after dark so warm clothes are essential. We’re not averse to donning the odd outrageous outfit so feel free to dress up as much as you want. The theme this year’s green festival is Medieval, so think Kings, Queens, rat-catchers, knights, damsels, wenches, chivalry and all things olde worlde .

Sunday is pyjama day, so you need not get dressed at all, well, other than your bed clothes! In the evenings some of the crew and volunteers often wear something glitzy, so if you like to dress for dinner, you can feel at home here. But some of us do not dress up at all for anything and that is fine too
